The Tuia Stage

Venue: Whakau Reserve (Taylor’s Mistake), Whitianga 

Creative Mercury Bay presents The Tuia Stage, a 12 hour outdoor showcase of Coromandel Peninsula performing artists (poets, storytellers, musicians) of all ages, all presenting their lived experience and interpretation of the kaupapa of Tuia 250 on two stages in the middle of Whitianga from 10am to 10pm.  Funded entirely by Lottery Tuia 250 Programme, there is no charge to attend this family-friendly, alcohol free cultural showcase.  Bring your sandseats or beanbags and set yourself up in the relaxed and friendly environment that The Coromandel does so well!  

Just a bit further down Whakau Reserve, 12 Coromandel Weavers present Raranga Taura Here Star Waka, a contemporary raranga (weaving) exhibition, demonstration and wānanga.
